Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court welcomed its newest judge as Lori Dumas was sworn in Wednesday during a ceremonial session led by state Supreme Court Justice Kevin M. Dougherty at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Surrounded by friends, family and colleagues, Dumas, of Philadelphia, won election to the court in November 2021 and will serve a 10-year term. She is the first woman of color to be elected to Commonwealth Court. The court was established in 1968 and is one of Pennsylvania’s two statewide intermediate appellate courts.
