Man beaten to death with a crowbar in Kensington

Police are looking for a suspect who beat a man to death with a crowbar in Kensington early yesterday morning.

Investigators said officers responded to Cambria and Emerald streets for a report of a person with a weapon around 5:20 a.m. There, they found Roberto Perez, 41, of the 1600 block of Fillmore Street in East Frankford, lying on the street with severe head wounds.

Authorities determined Perez had been beaten with a crowbar. He died on the scene shortly before 5:30 a.m. Police said the motive appears to have been an argument, but no arrests have yet been made.
