A 21-year-old man turned himself in Sunday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash last week that killed an 8-year-old boy in Strawberry Mansion, authorities said.

Khadeir Harris, of North Philadelphia, has been charged with third-degree murder, homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, receiving stolen property and several other crimes, according to police.

He was allegedly behind the wheel just before 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, when a speeding white SUV struck Ja-Kha House at 33rd and Huntingdon streets. The boy died less than an hour later.

Investigators said officers found the vehicle, a 2014 Buick Enclave that had been reported stolen, abandoned near Fairmount Park in West Philadelphia. Two men had been spotted running from the vehicle, police said.

A day after the crash, authorities released surveillance images of a man detectives believed was connected to the crash. Police told Metro on Monday that Harris is the man in those photos.

Legal representation for Harris could not be identified Monday.
