Police arrested a man last night after an officer happened on the aftermath of a shooting in West Philadelphia.
James Jones, 56, of the 5300 block of Chestnut Street, was taken into custody for allegedly shooting a 29-year-old man multiple times on the block where Jones lived around 11 p.m.
A police officer happened to be walking by the scene and arrested Jones. Authorities say the shooting occurred during an attempted robbery.
The victim is in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
