Man shot and killed outside Big Fellas Sports Bar in Grays Ferry

Police are investigating a man shot to death in Grays Ferry overnight.

Officers were called to Big Fellas Sports Bar on the 1300 block of South 33rd Street near Reed Street shortly before 11 p.m. There, they found Matthew Smith, 36, of the 3200 block of Wharton Street, lying in the street outside the bar. He had been shot multiple times.

Smith was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he died less than a half hour later. Investigators said the victim was shot during an argument, which reportedly began inside the bar and spilled out into the street.

No arrests have yet been made.
