Police are investigating a man wounded in South Philadelphia last night, one of seven victims injured in four shootings across the neighborhood.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots around 10 p.m. on the 1200 block of Carpenter Street. They discovered the victim, 27, with gunshot wounds to his right forearm, right lower back, buttocks and left arm.
The victim was walking toward a playground at the Hawthorne Recreation Center with a friend when several men exited a silver SUV and opened fire.
The victim fled, but collapsed on 12th Street after running a short distance.
He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
