Man Stabbed to Death in W. Philly Robbery

In a break from hurricane news (an unwelcome hiatus, given the subject matter), a man was stabbed to death in West Philadelphia last night during an apparent robbery.

Officers responding to a first-floor apartment on the 5300 block of Race Street around 9:25 p.m. found the tenant unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to the torso and face.

Stefan Washington, 56, was pronounced at the scene shortly before 9:45 p.m.

Police believe that the motive was robbery. The investigation continues.
