Man survives South Philly building collapse

The city is investigating after a three-story South Philly building collapsed with a man inside.

The man, 39, was hospitalized in stable condition, WHYY reported.

He was on the third floor of a Grays Ferry home located on the 1400 block of Patton Street when it collapsed around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was pulled out of the rubble and brought to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. The house reportedly had no construction violations recently cited.

The cause of the collapse is unknown.
