A man is in critical condition after he was shot during an attempted robbery inside a Kensington bar early this morning.
Officers responded to El Patio Lounge on the 3400 block of H Street shortly after midnight to find the victim, 35, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the leg and stomach.
He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
A witness said that he was in the bar playing pool with the victim when an unknown man entered wearing a ski mask covering half of his face and carrying a black handgun. The man demanded money from the victim, who refused and began to struggle with him over the gun.
The weapon discharged into the ceiling, causing the victim to fall back. The man then shot him multiple times and fled out the front door.
Police are looking for a 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10-inch unknown white or Hispanic male in his 20s, 140 to 150 pounds, wearing a black ski mask
covering his nose and mouth and a gray and black hoodie.
