A firetruck en route to the scene of a fired crashed on Baltimore Avenue Sunday morning, leaving firefighters with non-serious injuries.
“Mayday, mayday,” firefighters can be heard radioing in to dispatch at the Philadelphia Fire Department. “We need an ambulance here now.”
The five firefighters hurt in the crash sustained minor injuries, reports say.
The truck, containing firefighters from Ladder 13, was responding to a reported stove fire on Millick Street.
The firetruck was left blocking Baltimore Avenue after the accident, which occurred around 10:10 a.m. at 55th Street and Baltimore Avenue.
The parked cars were empty and no other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
