Million-dollar Powerball ticket sold in Center City

A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at a newsstand in Center City, lottery officials said.

The ticket in Wednesday’s drawing matched all five white balls, 32-34-45-52-58, but not the red Powerball 20, for a second-tier prize, minus 25 percent federal withholding. It was purchased from Centre Square News inside Centre Square at 1500 Market Street.

The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Lottery officials said the owner of the ticket has not come forward to claim the prize, but has a year to do so. Officials encourage winner to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of the Lottery’s seven area offices.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing has grown to $168 million, or $108.8 million cash.

Earlier this year, 48 employees at SEPTA won a jackpot of $172.7 million.
