More charges in Castro scheme

Two more people have been charged in connection with an alleged extortion scheme by former Philadelphia police inspector Daniel Castro, federal authorities said.

Castro is accused of hiring a “collector” — who was actually an undercover FBI agent — to collect $150,000 allegedly owed to him by a former business associate. William Wong and Alan Kats, both of Philadelphia, are charged with hiring the same collector to recover a $36,000 debt for them.
