Motorcycle rider killed in Kelly Drive crash

A 31-year-old man was killed Sunday evening in a crash on Kelly Drive after losing control of his motorcycle, authorities said.

Vasyl Gnpiuk, who lived in Strawberry Mansion, was riding at around 5:30 p.m. on Kelly Drive near Midvale Avenue in East Falls when he hit a guardrail and collided head-on with a car that was traveling in the opposite direction, according to investigators.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, was not injured, according to authorities.
