Get ready for love at first bite, Philly. This Saturday, March 9, is National Meatball Day, and Philadelphia is celebrating in style with specials, exclusive dishes, happy hours and deals across the city.

Look for decades-old family recipes with a new twist at Nipotina, classic Italian meatballs on special at Figo Ristorante, Sunday gravy style balls at SIN Steak Italian Nightlife, pepperoni meatballs and pizza at Revival Pizza Pub, meatball egg rolls and half off at Bar Jawn, and a special meatball day collaboration between Nipotina and SliCE at SliCE Italian Market.

Here are the best local spots to savor the holiday.

Figo Ristorante

Located in Northern Liberties, Figo is offering a half-priced meatball happy hour on Saturday, from 3 to 6 p.m., showcasing their delicious beef meatball blend, made with housemade marina, parmesan and fresh basil.

SIN Steak Italian Nightlife

Also located in Northern Liberties, SIN is serving up traditional Sunday gravy meatballs with an equal mixture of ground beef, pork, and veal, served in a pomodoro sauce with whipped ricotta cheese and shaved Parmesan cheese. This Saturday, meatballs will be $5 off from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Bar Jawn

Savor the flavor at this Manayunk hotspot with half-priced meatball egg rolls (served over house marinara sauce, shaved grana padano), bucatini meatballs (tossed in house made marinara), and meatball smash (choice of red or white, served on seeded bun).

SliCE is celebrating National Meatball Day all weekend long with a special collaboration with Nipotina. The Italian Market eatery will be serving up Millie’s Meatball Parm Pizza, made with San marzano tomato sauce, topped with pieces of Millie’s meatballs, fresh mozzarella, ricotta and chopped basil.
