NJ postal worker allegedly had five pounds of pot mailed to his workplace

New Jersey police have arrested a postal employee for allegedly having packages of pot mailed to the office where he worked.

U.S. Postal Inspectors at the Belmawr distribution facility on Wednesday intercepted two packages containing plastic bags with five pounds of marijuana inside. They were allegedly slated to be delivered to Arturo Delgado, 28, an employee at the Vineland post office located on the 1500 block of Almond Road.

After confirming the packages’ contents, officials resealed them and sent them out for normal delivery. When the parcels arrived at the Vineland depot, Delgado allegedly took them outside and put them in a vehicle.

Vineland Police Narcotics Detectives then arrested Delgado along with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Dylan Burke, 19. Both were charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams and possession with the intent to distribute.

The men were freed on summonses to appear in court, police said.
