No rest for Halladay

Not even an off-day can stop Roy Halladay from getting his work in.

With no games on the Grapefruit League schedule yesterday, the Phillies’ ace pitched in a minor-league game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He didn’t fare well — allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings — but that wasn’t the point. Halladay’s plan was to work on his location, which he thinks he accomplished.

“Really the biggest thing was to mix pitches, let’s do as much as we can on both sides of the plate, up and down,” Halladay told CSNPhilly.com.

Halladay threw 80 pitches and will make his next start Monday against the Boston Red Sox.
