Nutter will seek a 2nd term

CITY HALL – Get ready for more Nutter Butters.

Confirming one of the least unexpected political rumors, Mayor Michael Nutter said Wednesday that he will seek re-election next year. Nutter was the unlikely victor in 2007 after beating out Congressman Bob Brady and businessman Tom Knox in the Democratic primary before defeating Al Taubenberger in the general election.

No challengers have stepped forward yet to oppose Nutter. But political observers expect at least a couple challengers to surface in the next couple months before the May primary.
