A man is dead and another is in custody after a police standoff early Wednesday morning in West Philly, reports said.

Police were alerted to reports of gunshots on the 300 block of North Edgewood Street around 4 a.m., 6ABC reported. Upon arriving at the scene officers found a man looking out a window who allegedly refused to let them in. SWAT teams then reportedly joined officers at the scene and set up a perimeter.

When officers finally entered the home they found a man in his 20s who had been shot twice, 6ABC reported. That man was later declared dead at Presbyterian Hospital.

“SWAT continued to clear the property, and on the second floor in a rear room, hiding, they found a 23-year-old male. This male was not injured, however he was hiding from police,” Small told CBS3. That man was then reportedly taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing, according to CBS3.
