A 10-year-old boy has been charged in a violent home invasion robbery after being turned in by his parents.
The alleged incident occurred Monday around 3:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of East Luzerne Street in the city’s Juniata section. Authorities said a 51-year-old woman reported being beat with household items, including a plunger. She was treated and released at an area hospital.
The District Attorney’s Office annouced the decision to press charges today, has not released the boy’s identity since he is being charged as a juvenile. He faces charges on aggravated assault, simple assault, conspiracy, criminal trespass, possession of an instrument of crime (PIC), theft, recklessly endangering another person (REAP), robbery and burglary.
Police said a 9-year-old also involved in the crime will not be charged.
