Pedestrian struck, killed by Reading snowplow

Reading police are investigating a fatal accident involving a snowplow and a pedestrian.

A 72-year-old man was struck and killed by a snowplow while walking along a street in Reading, Berks County, during the region’s most recent snowstorm.

The fatal accident happened a little before 11:30 a.m. Monday near North 6th and Penn streets, 6ABC Action News reported. The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to a city hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Reading police are investigating the incident.An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The Reading Public Works Department has not commented.
