Person struck, killed by SEPTA train

A person was struck and killed by a train on the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line between 11th and 13th Street Stations, Philadelphia police said.

Service was reportedly stopped between 30th Street Station and Spring Garden Station, though shuttle buses will run in the meantime.

The victim was not yet identified by authorities, but was said to be a 55-year-old man who felt on the tracks and was hit by an oncoming train.

Transportation officials continue to investigate the circumstances of the death.
