The fall season brings a ton of flavors to the city, and we’ve got the scoop on where some of the best options are to sip and savor.

Owowcow Creamery

It wouldn’t quite feel like the fall in Philly if it wasn’t for Red October. And to celebrate the Phillies in the playoffs, Owowcow creamery has debuted a new treat, and it’s full of local flavor. The Tastykake-inspired butterscotch ice cream is filled with chunks of vanilla sponge cake, dark chocolate-covered pretzel clusters, and is swirled with red “brotherly love” sprinkles.

As a release states, the Red October flavor launched at Owowcow, just in time for the Phillies postseason. Pints retail for $11 apiece at all five Owowcow locations (Ottsville, Wrightstown, Easton and Chalfont in Pennsylvania and Lambertville, New Jersey), and it’s also available scooped in-store.

Craftsman Row Saloon

The Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Pop-up Experience at Craftsman Row Saloon features both sweet and savory additions to the venue’s expansive menu, with decked-out milkshakes, cocktails, new sandwiches and apps, and even brunch items added to the roster.

Food and drinks-wise Craftsman Row Saloon’s Halloween menu will feature butternut squash bisque, an Autumn salad, “haunted” mac and cheese (made with pumpkin, pumpkin seeds and bread crumbs), “spooghetti” and meatballs, the spooky birthday French toast, plus some handhelds like the mummy stromboli, all hallow’s eve chicken sandwich and monster burger.

Sweets-wise, the new milkshake offerings will span the “This is Halloween”, $18, made with local chocolate ice cream with a blended sugar cookie, house-made Jack cookies, black rock candy, plus black and white sprinkles, and then the “Halloween Basket”, $19, made with local vanilla ice cream with blended Kit Kats, Reese’s-Twix-chocolate candy toppings, sugar candy wedges, rope candy, Halloween sprinkles and a keepsake pumpkin basket.

There’s also an adult milkshake added to the pop-up, the “Apple Pickin’”, $17, made with local vanilla ice cream, Fireball, Buttershots, apple, caramel and a graham crumble topping.

For those really looking to imbibe, there will also be a large assortment of cocktails all themed for the occasion like the Trick or Treat Martini ($15 peanut butter whiskey, chocolate liqueur, Bailey’s and a Reese’s garnish,) the Oogie Boogie Mule ($14, tequila, pear and lime ginger beer), and the Corpse Reviver ($14, gin, elderflower, cointreau, absinthe and lemon), plus plenty of other options to try. The pop-up will be at Craftsman until Oct. 31st.

23rd Street Armory Oktoberfest

The Cauldron

This immersive experience offers Philadelphians the chance to craft their own potions (aka cocktails or mocktails) along with creative themed food dishes and other activations. For this fall season, the venue is also decking out its menu with Limited Edition Halloween Potion Experiences all throughout October, spine-tingling Horror Movie Marathons, Philadelphia’s most exclusive Halloween Club Party for Hallo-weekend, and a fabulous Seance on All Hallow’s Eve, a release states.

Themed cocktails and menu items of the season span a peach and bourbon martini with blackberry-flavored boba, and other seasonal sippers include The Monster Mash a spooky and smokey Scotch Old Fashioned with strong notes of banana, and which employs a muddled Cyclops eyeball (pickled onion) and Fairie Toenails (dehydrated Porcini Mushroom) for a complex and delicious flavor infusion.
