Philadelphia Health Department updates COVID vaccine dashboard

The Health Department has updated the city’s vaccine administration dashboard to include data on Philadelphians vaccinated in other Pennsylvania counties and states. With this added data, the city is now reporting that as of June 3, there have been 909,979 Philadelphia residents who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 709,199 residents, or 50.9 percent of all Philadelphia adults, have been fully vaccinated. These percentages are on par with vaccination levels reported by Pennsylvania and by the CDC for the entire United States.

“The City of Philadelphia and all of our vaccine partners have been working hard to vaccinate every Philadelphian against COVID-19,” said Acting Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole in a statement. “To finally see the scope of our efforts is exciting, but it’s also encouraging: half of all adults in Philadelphia have been fully vaccinated in five-and-a-half months. This means that getting to 70 percent or more is a realistic goal. We continue to strongly encourage everyone 12 and older to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”

With this new update, the Health Department also reported that more than 15,911 12- to 17-year-old Philadelphians have now received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccines are reported to the jurisdiction in which they are administered. This means that Philadelphians who receive their vaccines in other counties, including the suburban counties surrounding Philadelphia, are not reported to Philadelphia. The dashboard had previously only reported data on residents who were vaccinated in Philadelphia, and separately non-residents who were vaccinated in Philadelphia.
