This weekend, many streets will be closed as thousands of runners and enthusiasts take part in marathons around the city, leading up to the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday.
On Saturday the city will host the Philadelphia Half Marathon, Rothman Institute 8K, and the Kids Fun Run.
The city has announced several road closures that will affect the city beginning Friday at 9:30 a.m.
FRIDAY, NOV. 18
Benjamin Franklin Parkway (outer lanes) will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will reopen at 3:30 p.m. to accommodate afternoon rush hour traffic.
SATURDAY, NOV. 19
Beginning as early as 2 a.m., streets closures will be in effect along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in areas between 20th and 25th streets. Other areas impacted will include Kelly Drive, Martin Luther King Drive and many streets in Center City.
The city will enforce “no-parking” regulations for all vehicles in the area. All vehicles along the Philadelphia Marathon route will be relocated starting at 2 a.m.
The following streets will be closed for the Philadelphia Half Marathon, Rothman Institute 8K, and the Kids Fun Run.
Streets will reopen by 2 p.m. after participants have cleared the area.
SUNDAY, NOV. 20
The city will continue to enforce “no-parking” regulations on Sunday. All vehicles along the Philadelphia Marathon route will be relocated starting at 2 a.m. The Parkway, from 20th to 25th streets will be closed from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. These streets will reopen after they are cleaned.

Bus routes 2, 4, 7, 16, 17, 23, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 43, 44, 45, 47, 47M, 48, 61, 124 and 125 will be detoured beginning at 6 a.m. They will return to their regular routes as the races come to an end.
SUNDAY
Beginning at 2 a.m. bus routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43 and 48 will be detoured to accommodate the setup for the Philadelphia Marathon.
Bus routes K, R, 2, 4, 5, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 35, 40, 42, 44, 47, 47M, 57, 61, 64, 124 and 125 will detour beginning at 6 a.m. through the conclusion of the race on Sunday.
In addition, buses will replace the Route 10 and 15 trolleys to accommodate detours during the race.
