After a relaxing day off, the Philadelphia Phillies are back in action, this time welcoming in the Miami Marlins the Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia has swept two of their last three series (both being four-game sweeps) and currently holds the second Wild Card spot sitting just three games back of the Braves for the top spot.
As tonight’s game gets set to kick off, here are three player props for the matchup between the Phillies and the Marlins:
Nick Castellanos has had, by no means, an easy season, but he just might be figuring things out. Over his last 10 games, Castellanos has hit .378 with two homers and 8 RBIs. He’s also been far more successful this season against LHP than RHP, with a .313 average on the season against the former.
Castellanos will have an opportunity to improve those numbers even further tonight against Marlins LHP Braxton Garrett. All signs point to the former All-Star collecting two or more bases tonight.
Rhys Hoskins has been unbelievable over his last five games, hitting .357 with six RBIs, not to mention his four home runs in that time. While it’s certainly tempting to smash a Hoskins homer prop, five in a row is a tough ask, and at +170 (per DraftKings), “settling” for Hoskins recording an RBI at +130 is preferable by a mile.
The Big Fella is hitting 0.55 points better against lefties than right-handers this season. With Braxton Garrett (LHP) on the mound, he has a real shot at doing some damage in Philadelphia.
We’ll finish on what looks to be a no-brainer today. Zack Wheeler faces a Miami Marlins team that has just three wins in their last 10 games. Over his career, Wheeler is 9-4 against Miami and boasts an ERA of 2.45 with 129 strikeouts. While he was admittedly shelled by the Marlins back in April, That’s much more likely to be motivation for Wheeler than cause for concern tonight.
The Phillies will go for six in a row tonight, and now you can join the action now with one of the promo offer links below:
