To celebrate 19 years of service as a nonprofit business distributing proceeds to combat HIV/AIDS, Philly AIDS Thrift is set to host their annual block party, street festival, and Halloween kick-off event.

Set for Saturday, Sept. 28, the party kicks off at noon, and attendees can enjoy all sorts of fall fun, including music, food and drinks, games, craft/vintage vendors, circus performers, a celebrity dunk tank, and so much more. Featuring live performances by the thrilling sword-swallowing Reverend MacKenzie Moltov, Reese “Stoop Kid” Crawley, and Double Dutch Meetup, there will be no shortage of excitement.

More than 30 craft and vendor booths will be present, offering something for everyone, including punk rock-plus apparel, fine art, craft beer, and more.

“We are so excited for our annual outdoor block party for 2024,” said Philly AIDS Thrift’s Co-Founder/Executive Director Christina Kallas-Saritsoglou. “Whether it’s to Smooch-A-Pooch, watch people shove pie into their faces as fast as humanly possible, dare to Double Dutch, or simply dance in the middle of the street, everyone who stops by helps us raise even more money for local HIV/AIDS service organizations.”

In 2024, Philly AIDS Thrift has made $320,000 in contributions to 30 local organizations, including Action Wellness, the African Family Health Organization, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children – Drexel University, the Mazzoni Center, Project SAFE, the William Way LGBT Community Center, and many more.

Philly AIDS Thrift’s 19th Anniversary Block Party will take place right outside of Philly AIDS Thrift at the 700 block of S. 5th Street, between Bainbridge St. and Monroe St. For more information, visit phillyaidsthrift.com
