A Philly woman who called herself the “Young Lioness” was planning on flying overseas to join Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists in their brutal war to create an Islamic state.
The arrest of Keonna Thomas, 30, comes just one day after two Queens women were indicted for plotting to build and detonate a weapon of mass destruction
Thomas, 30, posted twitter messages backing ISIS and got a travel visa to fly to Turkey and join the terror group, the US Justice Department announced Friday.
She dubbed herself the “Young Lioness” and posted photos of young children dressed in combat gear.
She tweeted: “Ask yourselves, while this young man is holding magazines for the Islamic State, what are you doing for it? #ISIS.”

On Thursday, Brooklyn federal prosecutors announced the arrests of Noelle Velentzas 28, and 31-year-old Asia Siddiqui, who they said wanted unleash a mass-casualty bomb in the city — possibly at an NYPD police funeral. The Queens pair had been communicating with members of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and an alleged ISIS wannabe arrested recently in New Jersey, according to prosecutors.
Thomas, who was also known as Fatiyat Al Khilafah, communicated with an alleged ISIS fighter in Syria, who offered her the opportunity to become part of a martyrdom operation. Her plan was to travel to Syria from Turkey. Thomas responded by stating “that would be amazing…… a girl can only wish,” according to court documents.
Thomas is charged with knowingly attempting to provide material support to terrorists.
More than 30 people in the U.S. have been charged with plotting to join terrorists inSyriaandIraqin the past 18 months,ABC is reporting.
