This morning was Philadelphia’s third annual Mud Run (officially titled The Merrell Down & Dirty Mud and Obstacle Series presented by Subaru) at Fairmount Park’s Belmont Plateau.
Runners trekking through both 5k and 10k courses dealt with a variety of obstacles, including ladder walls, cargo net climbs, marine hurdles, low crawls, tire jogs, push-ups and, per the event’s Philadelphia website, “strange steps, a creek crossing and a very unexpected bridge.”
Participants plunged into a deep pit of mud before reaching the finish line. The boot camp-style event wrapped up with a 7:45 a.m. Burger Bash.
