Photos: Phillies first pick Mickey Moniak is baby-faced teen

The Phillies took a big gamble with their first overall pick in the draft a few weeks ago, selecting 18-year-old Mickey Moniak, a UCLA commit who decided to go pro.

Instead of a well-seasoned college player, Philly decided to try and mold outfielder Moniakinto a centerpiece of the offense in the future — they hope. He will wear jersey No. 2 (where available).

Metro was on site to see the young man announced after inking his first professional contract.
