PHOTOS: Philly Free Streets

Every year, Philly gets even more magical and the inaugural Philly Free Streets that took place today is just another indication of that. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., streets were closed to vehicles from Front & South Street to West Fairmount Park and people could walk, run, bike and play freely. South Street Headhouse District shops even opened early for the occasion.

Inspired by the Pope’s visit last year, where streets were closed as a security precaution, Philly Free Streets has joined 120 other North American cities with their open streets programs.
