PHOTOS: Sneak peek inside the Museum of the American Revolution

If you’ve been in Old City lately, it’s hard to miss The Museum of the American Revolution that’s taken up residence on the corner of Third and Chestnut streets. Just weeks away from their grand opening on April 19, the museum teaches the complicated story of our road to independence through artifacts, immersive installations (that even includes a reconstruction of a privateer ship you can walk on) and video experiences.

Vice President of Collections, Exhibitions and Programming Scott Stephenson reveals that the museum presents four key questions to visitors: “How did people become revolutionaries?” “How did the revolution survive its darkest hour?” “How revolutionary was the war?” and “What kind of nation did the revolutionaries create?”

Aside from the museum itself, there will even be a cafe where patrons can taste treats from the revolutionary period, as well as standard fare like salads, sandwiches and coffee.

Catch a glimpse of the museum before doors open to the public in our gallery above.
