The Valley Youth House Backpack Challenge 2016 closing ceremony took place at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts yesterday, where funds were raised and essential back-to-school items were collected for kids in foster care. Participating organizations include Philadelphia Department of Human Services, Five Below, iHeartRadio and Valley Youth House. This year, over 7000 backpacks were collected during the collection drive, which ran from July 19 to August 30. They were given out to the 100 young students present at the closing ceremony, hosted by Power 99 FM’s Mina SayWhat.
