A young woman is hospitalized after a pitbull tore off her ear in Wynnefield this afternoon.
The victim, 19, had a seizure at her home on the 5200 block of Arlington Street, which triggered the family pitbull to attack her around 10:40 a.m. and rip off her ear.
Officers were able to retrieve the ear, put it on ice and take it to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania along with the victim, who is in stable condition.
A police spokeswoman said she was not sure if doctors were able to reattach the ear.
The PSPCA removed the dog from the home around 11:45 a.m. It is unknown if they will re-release it to the family.
