Police: 11-year-old struck during Hunting Park shooting

The Philadelphia Police Department is looking for a suspect they say went on a shootingin Hunting Park, and an 11-year-old girl was struck in the melee.

Cops said that on Dec. 14 around 3:22 p.m., the girl was walking from the McClure School on Luzerne Street and was approaching Franklin Street she heard gunshots ring out. Authorities reported that one of the shots struck the girl’s heel.

Police added that a witness walking with the girlobserved a white man “firing several shots from Franklin Street at an unknown male who fled west on Luzerne Street with the shooter chasing him.”

At the same time, a witness was driving east on Luzerne Street at Franklin told police agunshot struck his windshield. He told police that he ducked when the bullet hit his car and wasunable to see who was firing.

Cops described the suspect as a 20-year-old white male with facial hair wearing a black knit cap, black pants and a black long sleeve shirt “with a possible dragon type design on the front.”
