Police: 2-year-old injured in Logan triple shooting still in critical condition

Police are investigating a shooting that wounded two men and left a 2-year-old girl in critical condition last night in the Logan section of Philadelphia.

Investigators said neighbors on the 4600 block of North 12th Street near West Courtland Street were holding a block party, reportedly to celebrate Father’s Day, when someone opened fire into a crowd of people shortly after 9:15 p.m.

A 2-year-old girl was shot in the stomach and rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where she immediately underwent surgery. She remains in critical condition, police said this afternoon.

Of the two men also injured, one victim, 22, was hit in the leg and treated at Einstein while the other man, 30, was shot in the hand and taken to Temple University Hospital. Both are in stable condition.

The 2-year-old was the second toddler to suffer a gunshot wound over the weekend.

In an unrelated incident that occurred around 7:45 p.m. Friday, a 3-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet during a shootout on the 2000 block of Ridley Street in West Oak Lane.

She suffered a graze wound to her hand and is in stable condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Police have not yet released a motive or suspect description in either of the incidents and no arrests have been made. Authorities continue to investigate.
