Police arrest three in South Philadelphia bowling alley shooting

Police have arrested three for today’s early-morning bowling alley shooting that left a man hospitalized.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the men, aged 24, 19 and 17, but said they picked them up at Broad and Wharton streets a block away from the shooting soon after the incident.

The violence occurred at 12:30 a.m., when the victim, 21, was attending a private party at the PEP Bowling Alley on the 1200 block of South Broad Street near Federal Street. A group of about five men tried to get into the party. When they were told it was private, two of them pulled out handguns and began shooting inside.

The victim was hit and fell to the floor of a bowling lane. One of the gunmen then stood over him, fired another round and fled.

The man was taken to Jefferson Hospital, where he immediately underwent surgery. His condition is unknown.
