Construction workers digging in June near Temple University in North Philly discovered human remains on the 1700 block of Atlantic Street.
On Wednesday, police announced that the remains had been identified as those of Pamela Lewis, 41, of the 2100 block of College Avenue, who disappeared in 2014.
The discovery led to the arrest of her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, Jermele Hudson, 43, of the 2800 block of North 25th Street. Hudson is now charged with Lewis’ murder.
Lewis was reported missing on Aug. 4, 2014 by family members, and police learned she had recently been spotted in a physical altercation with Hudson.
But it would not be until three full years later that an arrest would come in the case, after Lewis’ body was recovered and positively identified.
Hudson is charged with Lewis’ murder, abuse of a corpse, and related offenses.
