Police Find West Mount Airy Man Dead

Police found a dead man in West Mount Airy early Saturday morning.

Officers responding to reports of a person with a gun inside a residence on the 100 block of West Sharpnack Street around 1:22 a.m. found a man, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced on the scene at 2:12 a.m.

When SWAT responded to secure the house, two women and a man came running out. All three were taken into custody for questioning.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide. A spokeswoman said they expect to charge the male questioned, 28, in connection with the shooting.
