Police were reportedly investigating a ‘person of interest’ in the murder of a young Drexel graduate found dead in her West Philly apartment last week.
Jasmine Wright, 27, was found dead inside an apartment at 50th and Locust streets on Thursday.
Reports say she was strangled to death. There were no signs of forced entry.
Her family contacted police after not hearing from her for days.
The Inquirer reported that police had located a “person of interest” who they were interviewing in the case — reportedly a 56-year-old man.
Wright, a New York City native,had a master’s of public health from Drexel University’s School of Public Healthand graduated from Penn State University in 2011.
Friends mourned Wright on social media.
“If you had the change to meet and hang around Jas, you knew how much of a kind spirit she was,” wrote William Dennison Twitter, adding,”Who in their right mind decides ‘I don’t want her to live anymore.’ She didn’t deserve that.”
Police did not respond to requests for comment on Sunday afternoon about the status of the investigation.
