Police identify man killed outside West Oak Lane nightclub

Police have identified a man killed outside a West Oak Lane nightclub early Saturday morning.

They say Dijion Bowie, 30, of the 2300 block of 78th Avenue, was shot outside Whispers Lounge on the 7600 block of Ogontz Avenue when a fight that started inside the club spilled into the street.

Authorities responded around 1:15 a.m. to find Bowie lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1:30 a.m.

No arrests have yet been made, but a warrant has been issued for a suspect in the shooting.
