Police are investigating how a teenage boy wound up dead after he fell from the top of a moving car Friday night.
Police have not released the name of the victim, 16, who died in hospital Saturday from the injuries he sustained at the end of the three-block ride Friday night at 11:15 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle involved was tracked down Sunday, but cops are still seeking witnesses. There have been no arrests.
According to the police report, the teen was seen riding on top of a small white vehicle from Levick Street off Frankford Avenue, past the Red Robin Diner.
“The car drove west on Levick Street with the male on top,” the police report says, past Ethan Allen School and Blessed Trinity Regional Catholic School. The victim fell off at 2900 block of Levick Street.The car continued to Harbison Avenue and drove away.
Police do not know if the car’s occupants and the person top knew each other, or if the male “had walked up to a random car.”
