Authorities are looking for a gunman who fired at a driver before taking his car last week in North Philadelphia.

Police on Wednesday released surveillance video of the incident, as well as a clip showing the suspect inside a nearby store.

The victim, a 33-year-old man, left his car running after pulling up to a store at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, on the 1400 block of Susquehanna Avenue, according to investigators.

When he left the store, he confronted the suspect, described by detectives as a teenager, who was opening the driver’s side door. The teen drew a handgun and fired at least one shot toward the victim, who was not hit and ran away.

The gunman took off in the car, which was later recovered by police.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the PPD’s Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093/3094; call or text 215-686-8477; or submit a tip at www.phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip.
