Two people are hospitalized after a police-involved car accident in West Philadelphia this morning.
The police car, responding to a call with lights and sirens, was driving westbound on the 5800 block of Thomas Avenue shortly before 8:40 a.m. when a second car made a U-turn in front of the cruiser.
The police cruiser t-boned the second car, crashing into the driver’s side door, then a parked car and a pole. The second car slammed into a wall.
Both officer and civilian were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition, the former with complaints of pain and the latter with a possible broken jaw.
No word on if the driver will face charges at this time.
