Police looking for Center City hit-and-run driver

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a driver who fled the scene after hitting an elderly woman Friday afternoon in Center City.

The 85-year-old pedestrian was in the crosswalk at 21st and Chestnut streets when she was struck at around 12:30 p.m. by a sedan that was making a left turn, according to investigators. She is in critical condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, authorities said.

Detectives described the car as a dark gray 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion with a sunroof, chrome-colored front grille and sport alloy wheels.
