Police release more details in fatal Olney home invasion

Police have released more information in yesterday’s home invasion in Olney that killed one man.

Sophos “Sonny” Siv, 40, was found by his wife bound and gagged with duct tape at their home on the 200 block of West Ruscomb Street. Investigators determined that he suffered severe head trauma and two gunshot wounds to the torso. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:30 p.m.

Police said that the motive was robbery. Siv was reportedly a Cambodian immigrant who owned a successful business, so some neighbors believe that he was targeted for his perceived wealth. He is listed online as the president of Sonny Staffing, a company that screened temporary workers and connected them with employers.
