Police seek answers in West Philly execution-style murder

Police are hoping surveillance footage will help them find a suspect who they say shot a man at close range several times, killing him execution-style in West Philly.

Just after midnight Tuesday, police arrived on the scene at 55th and Sansom streets to find a man bleeding from his head. He was transported to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead around 12:30 a.m., CBS Philly reported.

The victim had no identification on him. He is believed to be in his 20s, and investigators said they think he was the intended target.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said investigators are still trying to find a motive in the shooting, and are reviewing surveillance footage in the Cobb Creekarea to help identify a suspect, 6ABC reported.
