Police: Suspects used diving equipment to steal 8,000 golf balls from country club ponds

Four people were arrested yesterday for using diving equipment to steal from the ponds of suburban country clubs after police pulled over a van containing three men, one woman – and 8,000 golf balls, the Tredyffrin-Easttown Patch reports.

Daniel Curry, 31, Charles Creed IV, 26, Robert Sauve III, 28 and Carisa Osmond, 23, of Saginaw, Mich., were taken into custody and charged with trespassing and theft.

They allegedly jumped underwater and stole balls from the White Manor Country Club in Willistown, Pa. and the Aronimink Country Club in Newtown Square, Pa., according to the report.

At the arraignment yesterday afternoon, Curry reportedly told the judge he owned a ball retrieval business that has contracts with other area golf courses and was told through an associate that he could collect balls from the two country clubs for “evaluation.”
