Ravens report multiple COVID-19 cases, close practice facility

The Baltimore Ravens on Monday announced that multiple members of their organization had tested positive for COVID-19 and were self-isolating. As a result, the team was closing its practice facility.

“We have started the process of contact tracing, and during this time, the Under Armour Performance Center will be closed, with all team activities conducted virtually,” the team said in a statement. “We will continue to work closely with and follow guidance from the NFL, team doctors and medical trainers.”

The statement suggests that the positive tests were discovered a mere hours after the team’s overtime loss on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans — a team that has already had its fair share of run-ins with COVID-19.

At the end of October, the Titans were fined $350,000 by the NFL for violating league-wide COVID-19 policies set to ensure the health and safety of players and staff alike after the team reported 24 positive cases in total.

As for the Ravens, it remains to be seen how this will impact their upcoming schedule, which is rapidly approaching with a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Steelers in Pittsburgh scheduled for Thursday.

Entering Week 12, the Steelers have a four-game lead for the AFC North lead over the Ravens, who have already lost more games this year than they did all of last season.
