Ready to digitize? Philly Tech Week returns

For the fifth year running, Philadelphia’s high-tech industry will come together and be celebrated by Philly Tech Week.

Presented by telecommunications giant Comcast, the 2015 Philly Tech Week will deliver “a dose of tech fueled energy to the city,” organizers said.

Led by locally-founded Technical.ly, a tech-oriented news site operating in Philly, Delaware, Baltimore, Brooklyn and now D.C., the week of events brings together Philly’s tech professionals, hobbyists and students for a variety of tech-focused events.

The 2014 Philly Tech Week attracted about 25,000 attendees, organizers said.

“We’re looking forward to another benchmark year for the week and are proud to have played a role in convening a vibrant and varied community,” said Christopher Wink, cofounder of Technical.ly and Philly Tech Week

The more than 100 events that make up the week kick off Friday night with Arcade @ Dilworth, an event at Dilworth Park that will include electronic music and video games.

Last year’s Tech Week was noted for winning the Guinness World Record for the largest video-game ever when attendees got to play Tetris on the side of the Cira Centre. The 119,600 square foot display broke the past record set by Tech Week’s game of Pong played on the Cira Centre.
