The Valley Forge National Historical Park is dealing with the output from a sewage line that broke yesterday.
Approximately 5 million gallons of waste are estimated to have been released into the National Park closest to Philadelphia on Tuesday, NBC reported.
The leak began yesterday under the intersection of Routes 525 and 23, both of which are still in the midst of repairs, when an aged water about 30 inches in diameter broke.
Park officials said that at its worst, 5,000 gallons of sewage per minute were released from the main.
Valley Creek, which runs through the park into Schuylkill, was reportedly not affected by the waste.
The park is still reportedly open to visitors.
